12 bodies found in clandestine graves in Zitlala, Guerrero

State authorities also rescued a kidnapped man and found a cooler with five human heads

Five human heads were found in a cooler and 12 bodies were exhumed from a clandestine graves in the municipality of Zitlala, Guerrero, said Roberto Álvarez Heredia, the Guerrero state security spokesman.





Álvarez said that the clandestine graves were found on the Tenanchitla mountain in Zitlala, near the violence-plagued town of Chilapa.

When authorities arrived they rescued a kidnapped man and found AK-47s and R-15s, gun magazines, vehicles and the cooler with the five human heads.

The Mexican army cordoned off the area and state police work to identify the bodies.

“Los Ardillos” and “Los Rojos” are two rival drug gangs that have been involved in extortion, kidnappings and turf battles in the southern state of Guerrero.
