Statue of Donald Trump as a vulture unveiled in Mexico City
The sculpture will be up today, and will make stops in several cities before making its final stop at the U.S.-Mexico border in Mexicali
With the head of Donald Trump and the body of a vulture, the artist Víctor Robinson unveiled this morning the “Zopilo Trump” statue on Mexico City's main avenue Paseo de la Reforma.
According to the Oaxacan sculptor, the polyurethane foam and plastic sculpture represents the universal rejection of Mexicans against Trump as a result of his discriminatory statements against Mexicans during his campaign.
“I made my sculpture in the form of a vulpture because that's what he represents with his racists statements against Mexicans in the United States and in Mexico. Trump is like a vulture. After visiting Mexico, I felt the need to depict Mexicans' rejection against Trump. I think almost all of us Mexicans feel the same way about Trump,” said Robinson.
He also claimed that he received no public funds or from NGO's to create the sculpture.
The sculpture will be up today, and will make stops in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora and finally be permanently installed on October 30 in Mexicali at the U.S.-Mexico border.
