Alleged murderer of priests arrested in Mexico City

Mexican authorities informed today of the arrest of the alleged murderer of two priests from Poza Rica, Veracruz, who were kidnapped last September.

The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City stated in a release that “Intelligence work allowed our office to complete an active arrest warrant against a man linked to the homicide of two priests murdered in Veracruz”.

The suspect was arrested together with another person after committing armed robbery of a vehicle in Mexico City: “The suspects were arrested last October 13 after violently depriving a couple from their vehicle […] and their belongings at the time the victim’s car was parked”.

The vehicle was eventually found and the robbers were arrested shortly after: “the suspects were amply identified by the victims […] and after the required procedures we identified that one of the suspects had an active arrest warrant against him […] which was linked to criminal proceedings of September 27 in the Poza Rica municipality, Veracruz, for the kidnapping of two, now deceased, priests”, authorities noted.
