17,000 protesters march in Mexico City

The protesters marched against the represssion of teachers and students in Oaxaca and Ayotzinapa.

Mexico City's Public Safety Department said that around 17,000 protesters marched on Reforma Avenue against the repression of teachers and students in Oaxaca and Ayotzinapa.





The march was organized by the National Coordination of Education Workers (CNTE), the 25th. Global Action for Ayotzinapa and the political party National Regeneration Movement (Morena).

The protesters marched from the Independence Angel monument to Mexico City's main square known as "Zócalo". More than 3,000 policemen will be deployed in the area.

Demonstrators also gathered in front of the Attorney General's Office (PGR).
