30 injured in bus-trailer crash in Michoacán

A trailer truck and a passenger bus had a frontal collision and left 30 people wounded, five of them seriously, over the Morelia-Maravatío highway close the town of La Goleta.

According to the authorities, the incident happened after 6:00 p.m. when the truck entered the oncoming lane and crashed into the bus, filled with passengers on the way to the municipality of Queréndaro.

Civil Protection personnel and firefighters arrived at the area in order to help the victims.

Five of the most seriously injured passengers had to be taken to a hospital, according to Eduardo Ramírez Canals, head of Civil Protection in the municipality of Morelia.
