Vicente Fernández said goodbye to the stage at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City accompanied by 85,000 fans and his family.
Known as the “King of Ranchera music”, Fernández, 76, recorded more than 50 albums during his five-decade career.
The Mexican singer, born in Huentitlán, Jalisco, has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.
In the concert he sang “Paloma querida” and “No volveré” with his son Alejandro Fernández, also a singer, who promised to his father that he would never let Mexican music die and would always carry it in his heart.
