The first major exhibition in Russia dedicated to the work of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo opened today at the Fabergé Museum in St. Petersburg.

“Frida Kahlo. Paintings and drawings from Mexico’s collections” features 34 works, including paintings, drawings, and lithographs.

The works for this exhibition were provided by the Dolores Olmedo Museum, Galería Arvil, and by Juan Coronel Rivera, grandson of Diego Rivera.

Officials said it took four separate planes to transport them to Russia because of safety precautions.

The exhibition will last for three months from February 3 through April 30.
