SCT: Helicopter showed no signs of engine failure before crash

Mexico's Communications and Transport Ministry informed that there were no signs of flaws or irregularities in the helicopter engine

Mexico’s Minister of Communications and Transport, Javier Jiménez Espriú

, informed that no flaw or irregularity had been found in the engine of the helicopter that came crashing down on December 24, 2018 , ending the lives of Puebla governor Martha Erika Alonso and her husband, senator Rafael Moreno Valle .

“There is still no verdict on the cause of the crash. As for the engine, experts didn’t find anything and the helicopter seemed to have been working normally before the crash,” said the head of the SCT following a cabinet meeting with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador .

He assured that the investigation of the crash was on the right track, and that in a couple of months, the Mexican government expected to find new clues to what caused the crash on December 24.
