The Mexican government announced the auction of real state propertie s previously owned by criminals .

The Administration and Seizure of Assets Service (SAE) said that “this is the first time the federal government organizes an on-site property auction .”

The SAE auctioned 27 lots of properties and expected to raise MXN $168.4 million .

Ricardo Rodríguez Vargas, the head of the SEA

, said that the properties on sale include a house in Los Cabos, Baja California , worth MXN $15 million; an MXN $10 million home in Cancún ; the “Los Tres García” ranch in Naucalpan , worth at least MXN $32 million.

The properties up for sale are located in 12 states: the state of Mexico, Mexico City, Querétaro, Baja California Sur, Oaxaca, Morelos, Sonora, Quintana Roo, Colima, Baja California, Tamaulipas , and Sinaloa.

From the 27 properties on sale , only six have been sold for a total of MXN $51,270,364, including a home in Mexico City, sold for MXN $14 million, previously owned by the Beltrán Leyva cartel .
