El Chapo's attorneys ready to negotiate prison term with U.S. prosecutors

Joaquín Guzmán Loera's attorney says that due to the drug lord's inevitable extradition, his defense attorneys in the U.S. are ready to negotiate with prosecutors to reduce the Cartel Leader's prison sentence

Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmán's attorney, José Refugio Rodríguez, confirmed that after failing to block his client's extradition to the U.S., El Chapo's team of attorneys will attempt to negotiate and reduce his prison term in the U.S.

In an interview with EL UNIVERSAL, Refugio Rodríguez explained that they will exhaust all possibilities in Mexico to block El Chapo's extradition to the U.S.. However, El Chapo's legal defense team in the U.S. are ready to start the pertinent negotiations with prosecutors to ensure the shortest prison term possible for El Chapo.

Refugio Rodríguez also said in the interview that the Sinaloa Cartel leader has not spoken to any of his attorneys about his son's alleged kidnapped back in August.
