Federal Police officers arrested in Ciudad Victoria a man identified as Osvaldo Velázquez García, the presumed brains behind the kidnapping of soccer player Alan Pulido, last weekend.
According to state Attorney General Ismael Quintanilla, the first person arrested for the kidnapping, Daniel Morales, said that "Velázquez was at the same party as the victim and alerted the material authors of the precise moment when he left and what kind of vehicle he was driving. Minutes later the kidnapping was consummated".
Quintanilla added that Velázquez García is married to a cousin of Pulido and is under investigation for his association with a criminal organization dedicated to drugs, kidnappings and extortion in Ciudad Victoria, the capital of Tamaulipas.
He was arrested thanks to the intelligence labor of the local and federal authorities, as well as the declarations from Morales.
