Five killed in attack in Guerrero

Five people were killed, among them a minor,  when more than then armed men descended over a party in the town of San Antonio de La Gavia, in the municipality of San Miguel TotolapanThere are more than ten people wounded.

According to preliminary reports, a local celebration known as a "jaripeo," with music and charros performing stunts with bulls, was interrupted at 1:30 p.m. today by the attackers.

Sixteen-year-old Alondra Arzate Guadarrama was one of the people killed in the attack, along members of music group Las Palmitas. Another minor, seventeen-year-old Luis Miguel Albarrán Laguna, was wounded.

The surviving victims were taken to a hospital in Coyuca de Catalán, Ciudad Altamirano, Arcelia and the State of Mexico.

Military personnel, and federal and state police are investigating the area and looking for the attackers, who apparently were looking for members of the "El Tequilero" criminal gang, considered the local power brokers.
