Mexican first lady Angélica Rivera presented an album in honor of Pope Francis, who will visit Mexico starting February 12.
The album, "Mexico se pinta de Luz" (Mexico painted in light), will feature singers like Lucero, Cristian Castro, Pedro Fernández, Carlos Rivera, Belinda, and many others.
Part of the sales will be used to fund the Federico Gómez Children Hospital, which will be visited by the Pope.
“I was wondering what could we give the Pope in order to reach his heart and give him a memento of the love of our people. For us it is very important because he will be here at the children hospital and since my artist friends are always asking me how can they help me, I thought that they could give me something they have, which is of great value and is their talents and their voice," expressed the first lady at the hospital, along many artists and record executives.
The album features 16 songs, among them four new ones and the rest a selection of songs used in visits by the predecessors of the current pope.
