Salma Hayek wants to produce a soap opera set in Mexico City

Salma Hayek plans to produce a soap opera set in Mexico City with the American TV network ABC.

“It is a soap opera for the U.S. audience and I am really excited about showing people how sophisticated Mexico City is in terms of art, architecture, food, music and fashion," the Mexican actress said during a talk about her career at Toronto International Film Festival.

"For me Mexico City is a super "chick" place and I don't think people have the impression that the city is quite avant garde in many ways. I travel a lot around the world, but Mexico City's boutiques are amazing,” she added.

She also said that she may play the role of a prostitute in the near future.
