At least four people were injured after an explosive attack against the offices of the Federal Judiciary in the city of Matamoros, Tamaulipas.
The multi-agency Tamaulipas Coordination Group said in a statement that the attack happened in the afternoon when unknown civilians threw an explosive device at the federal building.
The incident occurred minutes before 5:00 p.m. in the building located in the streets of Pedro Cárdenas and Longoria, in the Victoria neighbourhood.
Staff of the Mexican Navy, National Secretary of Defense, and the Federal Police cordoned off the area to assist the injured, three of which were located within the facilities of the Judiciary at the time of the detonation.
The fourth was injured outside the complex and was hit by fragments of the artifact, being immediately assisted by staff of the Mexican Navy.
The four victims were taken to a hospital, where they were placed under observation.
In the meantime, the federal and state forces are searching for those responsible for the attack.
