Holding the army back?

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador

made it clear that the army won't be used to repress society. This, in reference to the way the soldiers moved to the side while the inhabitants of Tlahuelilpan stole fuel from a Pemex pipeline . The problem the army will face now is the same it had when the war against cartels began: how to distinguish between good people and criminals ? The division between is not clear and it's not like they dress differently, or have special IDs. We've been reminded that criminals have used people as shields and they have even paid people to demonstrate to “reject the presence of the army .” Can fuel theft be fought against, without repression, when society is involved?

In the face of shortage...cleaner alternatives

In the Chamber of Deputies' Energy Commission , they are working on a proposal to decrease the use of fuel , based on successful results in other countries, where they have researched the use of hybrid cars that aren't too expensive. The commission is contemplating subsidies and payment and facilities for the citizens. They hope the decrease in the use of fuels will improve the environment . This proposal has been welcomed by all the parliamentary groups, so the proposal could move forward during the incoming ordinary sessions.

AMLO puts the National Guard at risk

The National Guard is in danger. We've been told that it's easier to approve President López Obrador' s proposals in the Senate because Morena and its allies need fewer legislators to reach the qualified majorities to approve the constitutional reforms . In this sense, if the Senators include the transitory article, the President complained it was cut off from the bill. The problem will take place when the bill is sent back to the lower chamber, as one of the PRI 's conditions to approve the National Guard was that the transitory article was deleted, which said that the armed forces will keep on fulfilling security tasks until the National Guard operates properly. Are Mario Delgado and his legislators in danger?

Gertz makes the opposition doubt itself

We've been told that some social organizations are wondering if the PRD and MC voted against Alejandro Gertz Manero , who was running for Attorney General or if they had approved him, despite being against having a “friend-attorney general” in the previous Legislature, when the along with the PAN , they prevented Raúl Cervantes from becoming the first Attorney General and forcing the PRI to desist. The doubt arises because the voting wasn't nominal but by ballot, therefore, they are wondering if the friendship between Monreal and Dante Delgado or if the cordial relationship between Monreal and Mancera played a part in the decision.
