La ciudad de México también puede traducirse en cifras: 26 millones de viajeros; más de 365 mil operaciones aéreas, 62 vuelos a 23 destinos del mundo y 59 arribos a la ciudad; cuatro terminales de autobuses; 3 mil 500 restaurantes; 67 lugares para realizar exposiciones y convenciones; más de 23 mil habitaciones en más 650 hoteles, de los cuales 158 pertenecen a gran turismo, cinco y cuatro estrellas, según datos de la revista Forbes.
Entre el devenir cotidiano —turismo, ofertas de entretenimiento, millones de habitantes, tránsito vial, manifestaciones de todo tipo— la capital también alberga a mujeres y hombres dedicados al ramo empresarial: se cierran tratos, se toman decisiones, se crean nuevos proyectos, se alcanzan nuevas metas de negocios y política.
Desde el 2011, la sede del Senado se ubica en la intersección la Avenida de los Insurgentes y Avenida Paseo de la Reforma; justo en esa arteria, la más importante de la ciudad, se halla la Bolsa Mexicana de Valores, rodeada de grandes rascacielos, algunos de reciente edificación, tales como la Torre BBVA Bancomer y la Torre Reforma, ambas en torno a la Torre Mayor. Destaca también el centro comercial Reforma 222 y otros establecimientos recién inaugurados en la periferia, como Reforma Capital.
Lo anterior le ha brindado gran protagonismo empresarial y jovial a la zona que hasta hace poco era exclusivo de Santa Fe, al poniente de la ciudad.
Ambiente idóneo. “Para cerrar un acuerdo se necesita tener claro lo que buscamos y ser honestos al plantearlo. El lugar idóneo a mi gusto, deben ser fuera del glamour”, considera el doctor Antonio Meza Estrada, hombre de negocios y política, quien desde 2007 encabeza el Instituto Universitario de Investigación Ortega y Gasset México, enfocado en impartir maestrías a políticos en pro de la gobernabilidad.
Justo en ese tenor, la formalidad de Avenida Paseo de la Reforma, que presume de solidez histórica, modernidad y no contiene la ornamenta de zonas como Polanco, lo hacen un sitio ideal para empresarios jóvenes que gustan de esa composición de lo actual y lo clásico, en un ambiente agradable y relajado. Un justo medio que siempre se agradece en una negociación, pues según los expertos privilegia la honestidad que se quiere proyectar.
“La mesa de negociación puede estar llena de agendas, emociones y egos. Los grandes negociadores saben privilegiar momentos y lugares para mantenerse relajados -sin importar la situación-, proveyendo liderazgo y soluciones, mientras el resto de la gente se sumerge demasiado en sentimientos e intereses personales”, asegura el escritor Grant Cardone.
En eso coincide Meza Estrada, para quien la vestimenta, la actitud y el lugar son piezas claves: “Las actitudes en un acuerdo deben ser de respeto a nuestro interlocutor; ser claros en el planteamiento e ir al punto. No soy partidario de la idea de exterminar; es mejor buscar una solución, ganar-ganar”, asegura.
