The TV series El crimen del padre Amaro (The Crime of Father Amaro), which 15 years later follows the story of the film of the same name, could even reach the Vatican.

Gabriel Ripstein (600 miles) who along with Daniel Birman, original producer of the film, and Luis Urquiza (Perfect Obedience) are writing the story, said that they already have the scripts ready to do.

"The big question is what happened next and we meet him again being 40 years old, he still belongs to the Catholic Church and he has learned a lot on the way.

"We start in Mexico, but being a multinational institution (the Catholic Church), being a globalized corporation, the idea is to expand it up to Rome", he emphasizes.

The crime of Father Amaro, starring Gael García Bernal, told the life of a young priest who ended up falling in love with a parishioner (Ana Claudia Talancón), whom he forced to have an abortion.

In the following weeks, they will talk with those who have shown their interest in concreting the project.
