After debuting at the Miami Auto Show, Nissan Mexico announced today that it will kick off production of the new Nissan Sentra SR Turbo at the A2 plant in Aguascalientes, which as of October, forms part of its portfolio aimed at reinforcing the brand's market share for compact sedans in Mexico and other markets in North America.

Vice President of Nissan Mexico, Armando Ávila, said that “thanks to our processes' quality and efficiency, we firmly believe in our work and for this reason, we're kicking off production of the SR Turbo edition of one of the most popular cars in Mexico and abroad.”

The first Nissan Sentra SR Turbo assembled at the A2 plant was Cobalt Blue and will be exported to the US.

The new Nissan Sentra SR Turbo will be available in 6-speed manual transmission, with a 188 horse power engine and 177 lb·ft of torque.

Between January and August of this year, Nissan has produced a total of 198,848 units of the Sentra at its A1 and A2 plants in Aguascalientes, which is a 5.1% increased compared to the same period last year.

The Nissan Sentra SR Turbo's market will mainly be in North America, which includes Mexico, the US and Canada.
