Mexican Federal police agents captured in Matamoros, Tamaulipas a man wanted in the U.S. on charges of sexually assaulting a minor.
In a press statement, officials say that the man, who has two arrest warrants in Texas, was found in a house in the Buenavista neighborhood of Matamoros.
The U.S. citizen's human rights were respected at all times, say officials, and he was quickly sent to the National Migration Institute's facilities in Matamoros.
Then, in collaboration with Federal Police agents, the man was handed over to U.S. Marshals and U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at the Brownsville & Matamoros International Bridge.
