Toluca, México— The General Council of the Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico (IEEM) approved the integration of two special commissions to address the overseas vote of the “mexiquenses” during the 2017 governor elections.
The initiative will include the implementation of the Preliminary Results Program (PREP) , which will kick off on the day of the election on June 4, 2017.
This will be the first time that the “mexiquenses” based in other countries, mainly the U.S., will be able to cast their vote overseas for an election taking place in the State of Mexico.
The Special Commission for the Vote of the “Mexiquenses” living Overseas will be chaired by electoral counselor Gabriel Corona and comprised by electoral counselors Guadalupe González and Miguel Ángel García.
