In the middle of a tight security operation, former governor Luis Armando Reynoso Femat was taken this morning to the premises of the national judiciary to declare about the charges of fiscal fraud against him.

At 10:00 a.m., he was taken to the premises on board a truck of the Penitentiary Police, under the custody of three patrol cars.

The authorities keep the former governor under a heavy security apparatus, keeping the proceedings against him far from the media eyes.

The surrounding areas to the judiciary offices are closed by the authorities, as well as the access points to the building.

Reynoso Femat was arrested on Thursday night by agents from the Office of the Attorney General (PGR) in León, Guanajuato, and sent to an all-male prison.

The former governor is accused of fiscal fraud, for not reporting US$1.84 million in earnings during 2009, and not paying more than US$495,000 in taxes.
