President Enrique Peña Nieto has decided to cancel his attendance at the Summit of the Tuxtla Mechanism for Dialog and Cooperation to be held in Antigua, Guatemala.

Officials of the Presidency of the Republic, consulted by EL UNIVERSAL, confirmed the cancellation of the tour and pointed out that a statement will clarify the reasons for the suspension of the trip.

Peña Nieto was to travel to Guatemala in order to participate in the XV Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Tuxtla Mechanism for Dialog and Cooperation. As host, Guatemalan president Otto Pérez Molina reported that, in addition to immigration matters, the leaders will discuss custom policies, security, trade and integration.
