The stages where world-renowned bands such as The Killers, Air, Pet Shop Boys, LCD Soundsystem, Lana del Rey and Kraftwerk will play are nearly complete. The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez race track in Mexico City is ready to transform itself into a massive music festival this upcoming weekend.

Over 1,200 people have been working tirelessly since last week to get everything ready for the festival. Federico Valverde, Corona Capital's Head of Production, said that the amount of technology that goes into each of the stages is absolutely impressive.

According to Valverde, his team has had to prepare for any setbacks such as rain, which requires the use of a system that monitors thunderstorms, wind and atmospheric pressure.

“We have certain safety protocols that we follow and we prepare well into advance in the event of any setback. However, we recommend that everyone bring raincoats to the event, just in case.”

He also said that certain modifications have been made to the race track to ensure that water properly drains out in the event of a thunderstorm, after an incident occurred in 2014 that resulted in severe flooding, but no injuries.

The event's organizers are also working closely with Mexico City's mass transit system to provide several options for concertgoers to get back home after the festival.

This year, concertgoers will have access to wifi and several rest areas will be set up, as well as a wider variety of food stands and a bigger VIP zone. There will also be several carnival ride attractions for guests.

“We've also invited several artists from around the world who will be selling their silk-screen prints, some of who will be making their creations live. There will also be several Mexican muralists who will be working on a tribute to David Bowie, Prince and Leonard Cohen, who sadly left us this year and who we would have love to have played with us, but unfortunately never did.”
