Train carrying chemicals derails in Veracruz

The train that derailed in the municipality of José Azueta carried carbon hydroxide, acrylic acid, ethylene oxide and fuel oil.

A train carrying chemicals derailed in the municipality of José Azueta, Veracruz. Two tank cars exploded as a result of the accident and one more caught fire, releasing chemicals into the atmosphere.

Hundreds of people, including inhabitants of the community of Paso La Virgen, were evacuated by state and municipal authorities as a preventive measure.
