The young men were rescued and found in good physical condition after being lost at sea off the Yucatán coast for over 5 days.

Four fishermen were rescued after being stranded at sea for five days since December 22 following a shipwreck in the Yucatán coast, and were fortunately found in good physical health.

In a phone interview, the ship's captain from the Celestún Port, Manuel Osorno Escamilla, said that he and his crew were rescued by several members of the marines and received immediate medical attention.

On Tuesday night, all men were taken to the Celestún Port and reunited with their family members.

The fishermen were identified as 30-year-old Jaime Jezael Rivas Chan, 17-year-old Reynaldo David Flores May, 17-year-old Daniel Hilario Solís Chan and 16-year-old Elías Andrés Chan Choch.

To survive for nearly 120 hours, the men rationed fresh water they had on board and their catch during the trip.

It is believed that their ship's engine, which is owned by the Hul-Kin fishing company, broke down on the fishermen.
