1.3 million files from a company registry in the Bahamas, one of the world’s most notorious tax havens, were leaked.

The leaked data exposes nearly 175,000 companies, trusts and foundations set up between 1990 and this year, which has also brought to light details of the financial interests of politicians, entrepreneurs, financiers – and fraudsters.

Names of Mexican businessmen, media specialists and former officials appear in the list released by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists ().

Businessmen Olegario Vázquez Raña and Olegario Vázquez Aldir, owners of news media outlets, hotels and hospitals have two companies called Radar Global LTD, Mundella Global Inc. and Albion Hall Holdings LTD, which appear in the list of the so-called Bahamas Leaks.

OffshoreCrimson Worldwide and Grantley Ventures, are owned by Ricardo Pierdant.

Former governor of Nuevo León Fernando Canales owns the company Yukali Subsidiary Corp.

The name of the TV host and director of BB Tips magazine, Martha Debayle López, appears as the owner of Camuchito Ltd., established in 2011.

The documents were received by the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung and shared with the public in a Bahamas Leaks database, built by the ICIJ.
