Mexican bullfighter Rodolfo Rodríguez 'El Pana' died of a heart attack in Guadalajara, Jalisco, confirmed hospital director Francisco Preciado.

On May 1st, 'El Pana' was fighting a bull in Lerdo, Durango, when the bull's horns went straight into his chest. More than half his spinal cord was damaged and three neck vertebrae were fractured.

The accident left him a quadriplegic state.

'El Pana' was born in 1952 in the city of Apizaco, two hours from Mexico City.
