The authorities of the state of Puebla reported the discovery of a female body on the Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca road, and it seems that she could be journalist Anabel Flores Salazar, who was taken prisoner by an armed group in Veracruz.

"The Office of the Attorney General of the State of Puebla is collaborating with the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Veracruz on the discovery of a body that could correspond to Anabel Flores Salazar," reported the agency in a press release.

According to the report, the corpse was found on the road this morning, some eight miles away from Veracruz.

It was reported that the woman could be the reported due to her complexion and attire although her relatives are expected in the area before providing a full identification.

In the meantime, the newspapers Sol de Orizaba and El Buen Tono claimed that the journalist was not working for them.

El Buen Tono published an editorial claiming that Flores was fired some time ago and pointed out that she possessed a car which does not correspond to her income. It also added that possible links between the journalist and organized crime are being investigated.

In the meantime, El Sol reported that Flores was just a freelance collaborator and had been working with them for less than a year.
