Mexico's Ministry of Public Administration (SFP) investigates one hundred senior civil servants who may have committed embezzlement, said Virgilio Andrade, head of the Ministry, in an interview with EL UNIVERSAL.

He explained that the investigations, that also include officials from previous administrations, are part of the fight against corruption.

Some of the officials under investigation are Jorge Humberto López Portillo; head of Exportadora de Sal; Luis Rivera Montes de Oca, head of the Office of Labor Defense and, Javier Tovar Jácome, head of Puerto Topolobampo. 

According to Andrade, who became head of the Ministry of Public Administration ten months ago, the Ministry receives between 26,000 and 30,000 complaints per year. He added that the Ministry receives 210,000 assets declarations every year with a 1 or 2% non-compliance rate.
