A total of 11 inmates in a regional jail in Puebla escaped this afternoon, and the authorities conducted a massive search for them.

According to police reports, around 3:30 p.m., the group escaped from the jail of the municipality of Huejotzingo, making a hole in the wall connecting the prison to the old facilities of the local general hospital.

The subjects, wearing denim trousers and white tee-shirts, were identified as Armando Xolalpa Sánchez, José Fernando Carrasco Mendoza and José Alejandro Sanchez Montiel, members of local gang "Los Moyos," as well as Armando Ortiz Ochoa, Javier Blanquet Pineda, Gustavo Castillo Márquez, Jonathan Robinson Luna, Fredy Tlaxca González, Francisco Javier Mota Hernández, Freddy de la Rosa Mendez and Mauricio Xolalpa Sánchez.

The last three escapees were recaptured.

This is the third in a series of prison breaks starting on March 25, when three inmates also dug a hole to escape a prison in that state.
