Two injured in shootout in Yextla, Guerrero

The shooting developed for three hours.

The Department of Public Security of Guerrero reported a shootout in the town of Yextla, in the municipality of Leonardo Bravo, which left two people wounded.

According to the report, the incident began at 7:00 a.m., when heavily armed men clashed with another group, exchanging fire for hours.

A state police helicopter overflew the area and landed in case it was needed to evacuate the wounded.

According to the report, the injured were identified as 38-year-old Isidora Gómez Romero and 28-year-old Juan Carlos Nava Espinoza, who are currently under medical attention.

The authorities also deployed state police officers to guard the area.

Leonardo Bravo has been making news before. Last December 9, 10 and 11, the Office of the Attorney General found at least 19 bodies in a clandestine grave in territory under dispute between criminal groups.
