Mexico had an important advancement in regard to transparency and budgetary responsibility according to the Public Budget Survey 2015 published by the Public Budget International Association.

The Ministry of Finance (SHCP) published the results of the survey, which ranks the budget transparency, citizen participation and budgetary supervision levels in 102 nations.

According to the SHCP, Mexico jumped from the 22 place to 16 among the most transparent countries, for a ranking of 66, well above the global median of 45.

“These results indicate that the Mexican government is presenting considerable budgetary information to society," expressed the Ministry in a press release.
