Preventive protocols for Colima volcano

The national coordinator of Civil Protection, Luis Felipe Puente, reported that the Colima volcano has entered a phase of ongoing activity, launching incandescent materials, and the preventive protocols have been enacted by the authorities.

Through his Twitter account, Puente indicated that the Civil Protection authorities of Colima reported that the advisory committee on the volcano is having a meeting in order to increase the monitoring of the its activities.

"#VolcanDeColima continues ejecting incandescent material on its south and southwest slopes, in the vicinity of the cone," Puente published on Twitter.

Both the authorities of Colima and Jalisco, remain attentive to the activity of the so-called Fuego volcano.

In a statement, the State Unit of Civil Protection of Colima reported yesterday that the colossus recorded a significant explosive event.

"The height of the eruptive column estimated 10 minutes after the event was of 4.30 miles on top of the crater," he wrote.
