Famed movie director Darren Aronofsky came by surprise to a movie complex in Mexico City for the world wide premier of his new opus, "Noah," the biblical epic tale starred by Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly.

Aronofsky was supposed to met the press on Monday night, but he came the day before to the movie hall in order to talk, in a very iffy Spanish, to the public.

"I speak a bit of Spanish, having learned it at school for eight years. But I am very dumb and so I can't speak," he said before switching to English to explain why he wanted his movie to be premiered in Mexico.

"Thank you for coming here. It's the first time in the world when we will see the movie. When the distro asked me where I wanted to have the premiere I said I wanted to have it in Mexico, because I love Mexico. As you know, I have come here many times. In fact, I have been here three times this year," he added.

Aronofsky said the idea of "Noah" came from a school project he wrote when he was 13. "They wanted us to do a project about world peace and for some strange reason I began to write a poem about Noah and that poem ended up winning a UN prize. That showed me that I can write stories, so we can say Noah has been my patron saint in story writing."

He also said that this particular story took more than 30 years in the making and that after writing the script for "Pi" he started to work on its script.
