Xochitla Foundation is a Mexican NGO founded in 1989, as result of the vision of Mexican businessman and philanthropist Manuel Arango.

Located only 60 minutes northwest of Mexico City, Xochitla stands as a 172-acre oasis amidst major industrial parks in the State of Mexico, with the mission to privately preserve and operate a substantial green area for the benefit of present and future generations.

The foundation is a self-sustaining project supported by the operation of Xochitla Ecological Park, which offers both recreational and ecological activities for the whole of the family all year round.

Xochitla Foundation champions the environmental cause with the presentation of the annual Xochitla Award, environmental education projects, as well as fostering fair trade for local producers through product fairs and festivals.

Regarded as an Ark of Biodiversity, Xochitla Foundation is tasked with preserving both endangered and already extinct botanical species native of Mexico inside the Xochitla Ecological Park.

Stay tuned for our exclusive interviews, and weekly installments, with the people behind this unique and valuable project.
