The teachers...united for AMLO?

We're told that a coincidence of purposes has brought the Social Progressive Networks (RSP) – led by the former leader of the Teacher's Union, Rafael Ochoa – and the Teacher's Network – part of Section 22 of the National Coordination of Teachers (CNTE) in Oaxaca – to talk about how to support Andrés Manuel López Obrador, aspiring candidate of the left National Regeneration Party (MORENA). There are those who have talked about the possibility of a massive welcoming of teachers for the candidate. Our sources say that this time it could be possible to see water mixing with oil.

Green rebellion in Chiapas

The center-right Green Party (PVEM) blew up in pieces yesterday in Chiapas after 14 of its local deputies resigned. An act which threatens to be followed by the resignation of the over 40 Mayors of this same party. The reason? They are all angry with the decision of their alliance to make senator Roberto Albores, of the center-right Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) their candidate for Governor of the state, instead of the PVEM candidate proposed. When the rebellion started, many said Senator Luis Armando Melgar would also resign to the party altogether but later on and under a legislative environment, this claim was proved false. The Green Party has an important presence in the state as not only is the Governor of Chiapas, Manuel Velasco, one of its members but the PVEM also held a majority in Congress. Now, the local leader of the party, Eduardo Ramírez, has also stepped down from his position. The surge of renegades, according to our sources, is because Albores is an assured loss. The favorite in the state is Rutilio Escandón, of the left National Regeneration Party (MORENA), and the question here is: will the PRI allow Chiapas to fall under the control of Andrés Manuel López Obrador? The scandal is sure to continue this Sunday, with a march of Green Party members in Tuxtla Gutiérrez...

The PRD's discontent

Among the leaders of the left Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) there was also a huge discontent in regard to the statements of the national leader of the center-left Citizen's Movement Party (MC), Dante Delgado, to prevent Ricardo Anaya, aspiring candidate of the coalition For Mexico to the Front, from answering the questions of the journalists upon his registration as candidate of the so-called orange party. A leader of the PRD said Delgado “made a mistake but learned a lesson all the same,” remembering the harsh criticism Dante had to face.

Cuauh scores in Morelos

Everything is ready – unless something else happens – for the announcement that the coalition Together We'll Make History will support the current Mayor of Cuernavaca, former football player Cuauhtémoc Blanco, as Governor of the state of Morelos. Yeidckol Polevnsky, Hugo Eric Flores, and Alberto Anaya, leaders of the left National Regeneration Party (MORENA), conservative Social Encounter Party (PES), and the far-left Labor Party (PT), respectively, are donning their best suits to make the announcement , justifying their decision on surveys conducted in Morelos, which place the former football player as the best candidate to compete in, and even win, the local election. Gooool!
