Prepare yourself for the first Electronic Music Festival in Oaxtepec

The 7.1-magnitude earthquake that struck central Mexico on September 19 had its origin between the states of Puebla and Morelos , about 50 miles south of Oaxtepec water park . In order to encourage an economic distribution to the state of Morelos , which was deeply affected by the earthquake, Oaxtepec’s municipality, along with several sponsors such as Corona, Prudence, Radio 99, Mega Body Paint, and the Diario de Morelos group , have decided to host the Electronic Summer Festival Morelos , the first electronic music festival at the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS)’s vacation center .

The building complex in Oaxtepec is surrounded by mountains and beautiful landscapes. Event organizers are expecting an attendance of around 3,500 people and a maximum of 5,000 . Only an hour and a half away from Mexico City , the vacation center will offer different lodging options at a broad price range. There will be cabins, houses, hotels, and camping spaces for young people.

Food trucks will be promoting delicacies from Morelos such as the traditional cecina , a type of meat that has been salted and dried by means of air, sun or smoke, traditionally made in Yecapixtla , northeast of the state of Morelos in two varieties: either thin slices of marinated beef or thin slices of pork coated with chili pepper called cecina enchilada by El conquistador de Yecapixtla .

Mexican beverages such as Sotol, a distilled spirit sourced from Dasylirion wheeleri , Asparagaceae, a plant that grows in northern Mexico, mezcal , and pulque , among many others will be presented by Mil Amores Tlayacapan .

Several agencies will offer travel packages including transport, lodging, and the festival’s entry fee. At the entrance, attendants will be given a bracelet with which they will gain access to the festival as well as the pool area .

There will be 14 artists from central Mexico playing at the main stage, which will be located at the vacation center’s Olympic stadium . There will also be a DJ set in the camping area nearby. The sponsors will host a special party at the clubhouse near the pool, where people will be able to talk to the DJs and have a few drinks.

The condom company Prudence , owned by DKT Mexico , will host a Neon Party on August 3 at the camping zone , featuring Mega Body Paint modules where attendants will be able to have their faces or bodies painted with neon colors.

Event organizers stated that the Electronic Summer Festival Morelos will not be a full-blown rave since it is meant for a broader audience. You can bring your friends and loved ones to this fantastic event, featuring well-known artists such as DJ Chrysler and Ralph G , as well as new talents like What the Funks , Rabbit Hunterz , and Batala Tepoztlán .

At a press conference, DJ Chrysler stated that he was “honored to be able to play at this ancient paradise.” He reminded the press that, at the end of the 15th century , during one of his expeditions, Aztec emperor Moctezuma had been blown away by Oaxtepec’s natural beauty . He decided to dedicate his heart and soul to the construction of a botanical garden where the most exotic plants of the Meso-American region could grow.

The Electronic Summer Festival Morelos will be held on August 3 and August 4 at the Oaxtepec water park and it is expected to boost the economy at nearby municipalities such as Cuatla , Yautepec , Totolapan , Tlayacapan , and Cuernavaca during the weekend.
