Canto a México (Sing to Mexico) a benefit concert for those affected by the recent earthquakes in Mexico, an 8.2-magnitude quake on Thursday, September 7, followed by a 7.1-magnitude quake on Tuesday, September 19, will be held at the Sala Nezahualcóyotl southern Mexico City, on Wednesday, October 18.

Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez will perform accompanied by the Mining Symphony Orchestra (Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería).

The tenor's participation is part of the Viva Peru Festival, which this year is dedicated to supporting Mexico's reconstruction and recalling the legacy of the Peruvian painter Fernando de Szyszlo.

On Twitter, the singer wrote in Spanish: “Mexico Lindo y Querido, I have followed closely the earthquakes in your country. I will wait for you in the benefit concert on October 18/ at the Sala Neza”

Canto a México includes a program of arias and popular Mexican music.
