Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has arrived in Paris, France, to visit the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and attend the One Planet Summit on climate change to be held on December 12.

During his visit, the Mexican President is scheduled to meet with OECD Secretary-General, José Angel Gurría, and to have, at least, two meetings with the French President Emmanuel Macron.

At the One Planet Summit, according to the official website, one of the main focuses of the event will be to determine how "public and private finance can innovate to support and accelerate" the efforts to fight climate change.

Overall, the Summit aims to reaffirm the commitment of the States Parties to implementing the Paris Agreement and to discuss ways to ensure long-term financing to address climate change to take actions to limit global warming to 1.5°C.
