“The technology company IBM currently operates in 172 countries . The Mexican market is among the top 20 for the company and has shown great opportunity for growth,” stated Eduardo Gutiérrez, president of IBM in Mexico .

According to the executive manager, there is a positive trend towards digitalization in the country.

"The market exists. Evidently, in this process of digital transformation, some customers go digital much faster than others, but sooner than later they must take steps towards a digital transformation in their business models," he said in an interview with Notimex.

Eduardo Gutiérrez considers that the growth of banking, manufacturing, and retail industries in Mexico has given IBM an opportunity to boost digitization, as well as establishing partnerships with other companies in the Mexican market.

"We have worked in the transformation of our own employees. We now have specialists in the banking industry, in the insurance industry, and in the manufacturing industry , which allows us to have specific conversations with our clients about their needs and opportunities. This way, we are better qualified to attend their needs," he said.

The international firm has a technological center in Mexico for the development of technological solutions all around the world. " The technological campus of Guadalajara is a company that is made for the world, where we work to provide solutions to the world. At IBM we have the advantage of working with people who are able of developing solutions at a local and international level,” stated the executive-manager.

He highlighted that software applications are developed within the technological campus and sold to different clients in the world, there are also competence centers that handle IBM operations, such as a collection center that handles all items for the American continent.
