Finland: Police shoot man after stabbing several people

Several people were stabbed in Turku, in Southwest Finland, and a person was arrested

The Finnish police declared that a man who was suspected of stabbing several people was shot in the tight in the southwestern city of Turku.

Public television station YLE reported that several people were lying on the ground in the city center.

On Twitter, Police urged to avoid that part of Turku.

Tabloid Ita-Sanomat declared that a man and six women, including a woman with a stroller, were attacked by a man with a large knife.

Turku University Hospital Director, Petri Virolainen confirmed that at least eight people had been sent with injuries, two people had died, and the rest were in stable condition.

The Police arrested a suspect and they are searching for other possible perpetrators.

The authorities have confirmed that the suspect is of foreign origin, yet it is not clear whether the event was related to terrorism.
