The deal of Moreno Valle with Anaya

It seems the Senator of the conservative National Action Party (PAN), Javier Lozano , caused quite a commotion yesterday when he wrote on his Twitter account that he was surprised by the decision of the former governor of Puebla, Rafael Moreno Valle , to support Ricardo Anaya and desist to run for President himself. “It seems I'm not part of his 'team and collaborators' because I only just found out of his decision. We shall see the result of his 'negotiation',” wrote Lozano as a complaint. Lozano wants to become the candidate of the PAN for Governor to Puebla yet with the virtual withdrawal of Moreno Valle, this goal seems highly unlikely for Mr. Lozano as Martha Erika Alonso – wife of Moreno Valle – just confirmed this Saturday one of the worst-kept secrets: she will run for Governor to Puebla...with the PAN.

Yuawi

upsets AMLO

Yuawi has made some noise not only in some human rights organizations but also in the left National Regeneration Party ( MORENA ), the party of Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) which has filed an electoral complaint requesting the National Electoral Institute (INE) to prevent the broadcast of the advertisement. The matter will be resolved in a couple of hours by the Complaints Commission of the INE since, according to the plaintiff, the apparition of the child in the advert of the center-left Citizen's Movement Party (MC) “goes against the better interests of the minor.”

IMSS in good health

Tuffic Miguel, general director of the National Social Security Institute ( IMSS ) has kept the situation of the Institute in good health. We've been told that prior to the upcoming 75th anniversary of the IMMS – on January 19 – he will present a balance and the goals of his administration for 2018, in which he will set as a priority to improve the services to all rightful claimants – no small challenge. Moreover, for the second year in a row, the IMSS had a preliminary surplus of MXN$8 billion, which is already setting a trend towards its financial strengthening.

The citizen group at the Senate

Senator Martha Tagle will make an important announcement today. After the actual owner of that seat, Alejandra Barrales asked for a leave of absence to seek the candidacy for Mayor to Mexico City, Ms. Martha rejoined the Senate as an independent Senator, that is, that she will not join any political party group. Legislator Tagle, who is a member of the center-left Citizen's Movement Party (MC) will be joined by several Senators whose banners will read “citizen group.” During the last stretch at the Senate, she fought against the appointment of a buddy as prosecutor and the Law on Internal Security.
