In October , automotive export increased 12.7% while automotive production increased 11.1% , according to the Mexican Automotive Industry Association ( Asociación Mexicana de la Industria Automotriz abbreviated AMIA ).

The Mexican market produced 365,111 vehicles and exported 287,465 from which stand out truck exports which have boosted automotive production and export volumes.

From January to October, RAM 2500 exports grew 1.7% , Silverado 2500 exports increased 1% while Jeep Compass , a vehicle that was not manufactured last year reached 122,278 exported vehicles and the GMC Sierra exports increased 8% .

Exports to the United States increased 9% , representing 219,585 exported vehicles , despite the 1.8% fall in US sales since the last 10 months.

"The figures convey the growing participation that Mexico has had in the United States despite the lack of participation from other countries in the US market," said Eduardo Solis, President of AMIA .

German exports

to the US decreased 9.8% , Korean exports decreased 5.3% while Canadian exports fell 5.2% .

AMIA emphasized that the automotive production broke record in October.
