Audi Mexico produced 158,550 Audi Q5  in its new production site in San José Chiapa, Puebla, last year, exceeding the company's goal of 150,000 units.

Last year, Audi Q5 sales worldwide increased 4.8% compared to 2016. 281,854 of the model produced in Mexico were sold in the Q range.

Audi Q5 was a particularly popular model in the United States during 2017, one out of four customers opted for the model.

The model won several distinctions, including the title "Best Off-Road Car of the Year" and the "Golden Steering Wheel" in the large SUV category reaching a maximum rating of five stars, becoming the benchmark in its vehicle class.

"The numerous prizes awarded honor the extraordinary work done in Mexico," assured Alfons Dintner, Chief Executive Officer at Audi Mexico, adding that each year the company offers a dual apprenticeship program based on the German model to 100 young students.

In 2017, Audi México was the first company in the country to start a double degree program in Industrial Engineering in cooperation with the Inter-American University for Development (UNID).

Other programs aimed at their workers are "Time for the Family," "Time for Studies," and "Mobile Work." Audi Mexico is genuinely involved in the region and it supports 250 children and young people from surrounding communities such as San José Chiapa, Nopalucan, and Rafael Lara Grajales.
