The Mexican government reiterated its strong rejection of violence, in the light of the recent events occurred in Venezuela, which affected the High Court of Justice and the National Assembly of that country.

The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) said that the events are absolutely unacceptable, regardless of their authorship and motivation.

In that sense, the Mexican government made a strong call to the Venezuelan government and people to eradicate violence and restore the validity of democratic institutions in a peaceful fashion and through political negotiation.

In addition, the SRE expressed its willingness to contribute diplomatically and in good faith to a peaceful solution to the crisis, with full respect for the sovereignty and constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

It added that for months the government of Mexico has expressed its concern about the growing violence and deterioration of the democratic order in Venezuela, always urging the government of the Republic and the different political actors to build a peaceful solution.
