Brothers César and Javier Esquivel Téllez , originally from Monterrey, Nuevo Léon , created in 2014 the digital platform Blooders to promote blood donation. Three years away, they have 9 thousand 500 registries and have achieved 2 thousand 800 processes of altruistic blood donation in four cities of the country, all this possible with the work of only 8 people.

Blooders, a combination of words between blood and brothers, makes blood donation processes more efficient, says César Esquivel in an interview with EL UNIVERSAL, about the World Blood Donor Day .

With a web page, a mobile application, profiles in social networks and a blog, this platform connects all the actors involved, since patients who need a transfusion and health centers create digital campaigns to request a certain number of donors.

People who want to donate are told of the requirements they need and are accompanied throughout the process, which reduces the time of donation through a system of appointments in hospitals from 4 hours to one.

Blooders manages appointments in 27 hospitals in four cities: 16 in Monterrey , 9 in Mexico City , 1 in Puebla and 1 in Villahermosa , but the future plan is to expand to more cities and increase the number of health centers with their appointment system.

Blooders does not charge for any of its services. It subsists with technology sponsors who support them with servers and maintenance of the platform; they have also won some contests that have helped them to further develop the project.

Hospitals and health institutions have not found the correct way to encourage blood donation through campaigns, but César says that Blooders is willing to do a joint work to transform communication in that regard.
