Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal each to help Real Madrid beat Mexican side Club América 2-0 Thursday to advance to the Club World Cup final.

Benzema took a pass from Toni Kroos and beat Club América goalkeeper Moisés Muñoz with a superb right-footed shot in first-half stoppage time. Ronaldo scored with an angled shot deep in injury time.

Madrid hasn't lost in any competition since April 6, an unbeaten run which has stretched to a club record 36 games.

The European champions dominated the first half but struggled to penetrate the opposition's defense until Benzema's late goal.

Ronaldo, who earned his fourth Ballon d'Or award on Monday, sent a header off the post in the 26th minute.

Madrid will face Japanese club Kashima Antlers in Sunday's final.
