The Federal Police, with the help of police dogs, intercepted 13 presumably archaeological figures in a courier delivery company in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

According to a press release, the National Security Commission reports that personnel detected a box during a random inspection procedure.

“A police dog trained in detecting drugs, money and explosives, reacted to the cardboard box which was to be shipped to Manzanillo, Colima.”

Inside the box were 13 figures, approximately 7 inches tall and 3.5 wide, wrapped in plastic.

The figures were turned over to the Attorney's General Office, which will determine their authenticity.

An investigation is also underway to determine the identities of the sender and receiver of the package.
