Argentina's government said that the fugitive Mexican druglord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán is not in Argentina.

On November 6 Argentina's Security Minister Sergio Berni said the government was acting on a tip that Guzmán tried to cross the Chilean-Argentine border.

Berni explained that authorities have identified who made the phone call and added that the person will be prosecuted.

The head of Mexico's Sinaloa cartel has twice escaped maximum-security prisons, most recently in July this year.
